Tournament Rules

Dates: Monday March 16 - Saturday March 21, 2026

Location: Sunland Springs Village

Entries: 

• This is a Mixed Doubles Tournament.

• Players' level is at their current recreation, social or league playing level as of 2/1/26. They are required to be a EVSTL member.

• One level of difference between partners is allowed. The Team will play at the higher team member's level.

• Entries will be accepted on a 'first come first served' basis. We will make every effort to accommodate all teams.

• League / Recreation / Social levels may play together in the tournament. 

• Players may be from different clubs

• We will review a player's status with their Club if there are any questions regarding playing level.

Draws:

• Draw Levels will be  2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 & 4.5+ &  2 separate brackets for age 75+ (2.0-3.0 & 3.5-4.0)

• Brackets will be formed as needed depending on entries.

• Three matches guaranteed unless a team withdraws or forfeits.

• The A bracket is for teams that have no loses.  B bracket is for teams with one lose.  C bracket is for teams with two loses.

• $35 per player / $70 per team. Fees are paid to your club tournament coordinator.

• All Clubs are requested to send one payment for all of their Club entries using Zelle... SSVTENNISCLUBPAYMENT@GMAIL.COM

• Refunds will not be made after March 10th, 2025.

Schedule of Plays:

• The first match each day will begin at 8:00 am with the last match begins at 3:30 pm.

• Each match is scheduled for 1.5 hours.

• At the discretion of the tournament directors, teams may be in default if they are more than 10 minutes late reporting for a scheduled match.

Registration:

• All scheduled players must check in daily, thirty minutes before their scheduled match time.

• Monday, March 9 -  Funds due to SSV using Zelle.... ssvtennisclubpayment@gmail.com. Please reconcile the funds sent with your roster prior payment.

• Thursday March 12- Draws published. 

Rain Delays:

• • • Play will resume as soon as possible after a rain delay, at the discretion of the Tournament Directors.

    • Players are asked to keep in touch with Tournament officials and monitor the website during and after a rain delay.

Competition:

• • • Matches are 2 sets with a 3rd set match tie breaker.

    • All levels will play a 7-point set tie breaker.

    • All levels will play a 10-point match tie breaker.

    • All matches will be 2nd deuce as game point served gender to gender except in the Championship/Consolation finals on Saturday when they will be played out.

Rules of Play:

• • • Substitutions will be allowed prior to the first match on Monday or Tuesday.

    • Substitute players must have the same playing level.

    • A team that withdraws before its first match is considered withdrawn from the tournament.

    • Injury timeouts limited to ten (10) minutes.

    • If a player is incapable of completing a match, they will be considered retired from the match and the team forfeits.

    • Warm-ups will be a maximum seven (7) minutes including practice serves.

    • Players will call their own lines.

    • Players are responsible to check posted on-site draw sheets or website for their next match.

    • Players should be aware of foot faults.

Awards:

• • • Championship winner 1st place, $50 per player. Championship runner-up 2nd place, $40 per player.

    • B bracket winner 3rd place, $30 per player.  Medals for 1st and 2nd in all brackets, A, B and C.
